Living in Oslo, Norway, André finds inspiration in the solitude of the forest surrounding the city. He makes surreal and abstract art, drawing on ideas from philosophy, architecture and nature. Wood holds a special meaning to him, and he uses manual tools. This makes the carving process a tedious one.
André makes applied art as well, combining historic Norwegian design with natural wooden materials to produce useful pieces of decoration. Here he is in front of his collection at the Norwegian National Museum.
